Who We Fund

The following social purpose enterprises, all located in Toronto, receive funding from the Toronto Enterprise Fund. Please click here for a map showing the location of the enterprises.

 
   
BlueSky.jpg Blue Sky DJ Service is owned and operated by Pape Adolescent Resource Centre. Blue Sky is an entertainment business that provides training and transitional employment to youth moving out of the foster care system.
   
Freek Geek.jpgCyberEquality/Free Geek Toronto has a mission to make our city a place where e-waste is disposed of responsibly, safely and ethically, and where everyone has access to computers and the Internet. Technicians run an evaluation and repair clinic, and their Thrift Shop sells refurbished computers, used electronic equipment and components.
   
Eva's Phoenix.jpg Eva’s Phoenix Print Shop is a commercial print shop that provides training and transitional employment to youth who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. It is owned and operated by Eva’s Initiatives.
   
catering2.GIF Friends Catering Company offers a full range of catering services, including some of its own recipes, to non-profit organizations and corporations in the downtown area. It is owned and operated by the Fred Victor Centre.
   
Furniture_Bank.jpg Furniture Link is owned and operated by the Furniture Bank, Furniture Link operates a furniture pickup and delivery business providing permanent employment to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
   
Haween.gif Haween Enterprises is owned and operated by the Somali Women and Children’s Support Network, Haween Enterprises is a sewing enterprise that makes textile products for manufacturers, private companies and individuals, and provides training and transitional employment for immigrant and low-income women.
   
Inspirations.png Inspirations Studio is a studio space where homeless and marginalized women develop micro-businesses in arts and crafts production. Inspirations Business obtains bulk orders from organizations and corporations for gift items, which are sub-contracted to the members of the studio. Sistering owns and operates Inspirations Studio. Frequent updates via their blog.
   
Interpreter_Services.jpg Interpreter Services Toronto offers 24 hour a day, 7 days a week interpretation and translation services to the legal community. Services are provided by professionally trained immigrant and refugee women who are proficient in English and another language. The enterprise is owned and operated by the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic.
   
     
NICS_School.jpg The Toronto Painting and Restoration Academy is a painting and decorating social purpose enterprise. Operated by the Niagara International Children's Society, the enterprise offers professional painting training services to marginalized youth and newcomers. Their customers include the Toronto Community Housing Corporation, Casa Loma, and others.
    
cafe.jpg Out of This World Café is owned and operated by the Ontario Council of Alternative Businesses, Out of This World Café is located within the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)’s Queen Street site, and operates four business units: a café, an espresso bar, a mobile coffee cart, and a catering business. Out of This World Café is the first psychiatric survivor run business in a hospital setting in Canada, with employees taking responsibility for the business. The café provides permanent part-time employment to 40 participants who are patients of CAMH.
   
Parkdale_Green3.jpg Parkdale Green Thumb Enterprises is also owned and operated by the Ontario Council of Alternative Businesses, Parkdale Green Thumb Enterprises is a horticultural maintenance business that provides streetscaping for Business Improvement Associations and indoor plant maintenance. Green Thumb offers permanent employment to psychiatric consumer/survivors who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  
 
Silverbrush.jpgThe Silver Brush provides painting services to the commercial residential market. It is operated by a partnership of Houselink Community Homes and Parkdale Activity Resource Centre. The Silver Brush offers permanent employment to psychiatric consumer/survivors who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

   
St_Johns.jpg St. John's Bakery is a wholesale and retail bakery of organic, artisan-style bread that offers permanent employment to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It is owned and operated by St. John the Compassionate Mission.
